The homeowner considering installing new siding has several options to choose from. Vinyl, fiber cement, wood, metal, brick, stone—the list goes on. The decision you make when it comes to siding is an important one because it can make or break the curb appeal, energy efficiency, and overall protection of your home. If you’re keen enough, you may have noticed that vinyl siding has become a popular choice for modern homes. Why is that?
Here at Mr. Handyman, we know a thing or two about various types of siding thanks to our experience in the home improvement industry. In this article, we’ll discuss the seven benefits of vinyl siding for repair and installation.
Vinyl siding is incredibly durable and resists the elements, scratching, corrosion, and denting. Unlike metal and wood siding, vinyl won’t rot, warp, or peel, and it doesn’t require painting. Its durability is attributed to its PVC composition and impeccable engineering.
Vinyl siding installed by a skilled handyman in Collinsville, TX can last between 20-40 years. This is why many manufacturers offer extensive warranties, often ranging from 25 years to a lifetime, guaranteeing its durability and longevity.
Home improvement projects can get expensive fast, but vinyl siding keeps costs in check. Compared to other materials like wood or brick, it’s one of the most budget-friendly options available. Not only is the material itself affordable, but installation is also quicker and less labor-intensive, saving you even more money.
Gone are the days when vinyl siding looked plain and plastic-like. Today, it comes in a variety of colors, textures, and styles that mimic wood, stone, and other premium materials. Whether you prefer a classic or modern aesthetic, there’s a vinyl siding option that will enhance your home’s curb appeal.
Nobody wants to spend weekends scrubbing or repainting their home's exterior. With vinyl siding, maintenance is minimal. A simple rinse with a garden hose or a quick wash with soapy water is all it takes to keep it looking fresh. Plus, it doesn’t warp, rot, or attract pests like traditional wood siding.
Looking to cut down on energy bills? Insulated vinyl siding adds an extra layer of protection, helping to regulate indoor temperatures. It keeps the heat out in the summer and locks warmth in during the winter, reducing strain on your HVAC system. Over time, this energy efficiency can lead to noticeable savings.
Forget about peeling paint and costly touch-ups. Vinyl siding is designed with color that runs through the entire material, meaning it won’t fade or chip like painted surfaces. Once installed, you won’t have to worry about repainting every few years—just enjoy the long-lasting color and finish.
Vinyl siding is one of the fastest exterior upgrades you can make. Its lightweight panels and interlocking design allow for a smooth and efficient installation process. Whether you're undertaking siding repair, replacing damaged sections, or installing brand-new siding, the job gets done faster than with other materials, reducing labor costs and inconvenience.
We called Mr. Handyman because we had a problem with our 2nd floor gutters overflowing and flooding the front flower beds. John arrived the next day and took care of everything. He was friendly, knowledgeable and took good care of our property. It turned out the gutters were fairly clean but John took the time to check more thoroughly and found the downspouts were clogged. He cleared them out and managed to get everything working as it should while taking care not to crush my newly planted flowers. I'm very happy with this service.
John Svoboda arrived when he was expected. He was friendly and professional. We wanted to make sure the windows were well sealed. He inspected each window inside and out and recommended caulking for some of them. He gave us an accurate time estimate for completing the work. A great experience! We will be calling Mr. Handyman for other tasks
We had a big screen TV mounted above our fireplace by Angie's list, the guy did a crappy job. So we called Mr handyman of Sherman, Duayne showed up he did a wonderful job and it wasn't as expensive. I highly recommend ask for Duayne
My dog has an autoimmune disease that requires he eat sitting upright. I got him a special chair for this, but it came without pilot holes drilled and for the life of me I could not get it assembled. I called Mr Handyman and Pete came out and was absolutely awesome. Amazingly friendly and knowledgeable dude, and was able to get the chair fixed and sturdy as a rock in no time at all. I had a few electrical outlets around the house that stopped working and he was also able to quickly diagnose that and explain to me what was happening. Another tech came out earlier this year to repair some flashing on my roof after a bad storm and had an equally awesome experience then. I’m very thankful for Pete and the team at Mr Handyman!
Even the best vinyl siding won’t amount to much without proper installation. A poorly done job will result in premature crumbling, warping, and other issues. It’s important to find an experienced handyman you can trust to ensure the siding is installed correctly. Whether it be siding repair or replacement, the job should be left to a reputable contractor.
